A Gorgeous and Rare Antique Mine Cut Diamond and Enamel Brooch, Horseshoe - Equestrian Motif, Art Nouveau Era, circa 1890 Attributed to Krementz, Newark, NJ. Krementz was one of the finest jewelers of the Era based out of Newark, New Jersey. Their quality was practically unmatched and designs were wonderful. Although the brooch is not signed, the signature mark was probably on the original catch which was replaced over the years with a safety style clasp. This brooch is a rare example of the late Victorian - Art Nouveau Era. The piece is fashioned in the form of a horseshoe with a lovely hand painted, polychrome enameled four leaf clover set with an antique mine cut diamond in its center. The horseshoe is adorned with genuine seed pearls. The setting tests to be 14K Victorian gold. The piece is in beautiful vintage condition for a piece of this age. Overall the brooch measures about 1 inch long by about 7/8 inch wide from side to side. This is a rare find and a lucky addition to anyone's antique jewelry collection.
